Kendra Nayak

Name: Surajbhai Shah
Age: 24
Role: Leader of Centre
Aim: Create a vision for Kendra, communicate that vision effectively across the organisation and deliver that vision by using all the resource available. 
  • Ensure all key stakeholders of Kendra understand what we are trying to achieve and how they can support.
  • Mentor the 18+ age group, maximise the senior resource available and bring old volunteers back in.
  • Have complete knowledge of anything planned for Kendra (from Leadership, SS or EC) and ensuring they are suitable for our baalako.
  • Run regular Leadership, Senior and Parent Meetings to keep everyone updated.
  • Represent Kendra and baalako at Baal Pravuti, SS and EC meetings.
Kendra Nayab

Name: Snehaben Varshani
Age: 23
Role: Deputy Leaders of Kendra
Aim: Ensure the development and engagement of our workforce and baalako and drive the Kendra vision through the activities that we give our baalako. 
  • Knowing the 14-18 year olds on a personal basis, be their first port of call and work on their development.
  • Ensure the activities at Kendra are challenging, engaging and exciting.
  • Working with Kendra Handlers on a weekly basis in terms of the logistics of the timetable.
  • Ensuring the Kendra Handlers are aware of each activity in detail, reasons behind the activities, aims and objectives, and general logistics i.e. timings, areas, handlers, wet weather plans etc.
  • Drive the Kendra Handlers to take ownership of Kendra.
  • Responsible for ensuring the term’s aims and objectives are being met. 


Baal Mandir Coordinator

Name: Anishaben Dhanani
Age: 21
Role: Leader of the Baal Mandir programme (Baalako aged 5)
Aim: Create the Baal Mandir syllabus which develops the baalako and integrates them in the Core Kendra Activities
  • Follow the Baal Mandir development plan in order to integrate the baalako into Core Kendra and start to build on their existing skills. 
  • Manage and teach the workforce on how to handle baalako of this age group.
  • Continually update the parents with what the baalako have learnt and what they will be doing. 
  • Speak with the Baal Pravruti Coordinators to ensure that Baal Mandir are thought about in activities.

Devchand Talim Coordinator

Name: Niravbhai Shah
Age: 22
Role: Lead the Talim (Training) for our 12 - 14 year olds
Aim: Get the baalako bonding together, introduce the baalako to what shishukunj is and start to develop a skill set which they can apply when they get to workforce. 
  • Coordinate with the Finchley Kendra Devchand Talim Coordinator to ensure consistency between both Kendras as per the Baalako Development Plan.
  • Devise a plan for the year in terms of the content that will be covered and who will handle the sessions - ensure there is an appropriate balance of practical and theoretical sessions. 
  • Contact handlers (including Karyakars and Senior Talimi Karyakars who do not come to Kendra regularly) and ensure you review their sessions before delivery at Kendra. 
  • Ensure the gooch is ready to enter the workforce. 
  • Coordinate and run (with the Finchley Devchand Talim Coordinator) the bi-annual Talim Initiation Weekend in terms of content and delivery. 
  • Fill out a handover document for the next coordinator so they knows what content the gooch has previously covered to aid them with planning. 

Vallabh Talim Coordinator

Name: Rishibhai Galaiya
Age: 26
Role: Lead the Talim (Training) for our 14+ year olds
Aim: Get the workforce to start to question their strengths, build on their weaknesses through the training programme and start to bond together as one unit.  
  • Coordinate with the Kendra Nayak to ensure content is relevant as per the Baalako Development Plan.
  • Devise a plan for the term(s) in terms of the content that will be covered and who will handle the sessions - ensure there is an appropriate balance of practical and theoretical sessions. 
  • Contact handlers (including Karyakars and Senior Talimi Karyakars who do not come to Kendra regularly) and ensure you review their sessions before delivery at Kendra. 
  • Ensure sessions are relevant for the new workforce members as well as those who have had multiple years of talim. Check in with the Kendra Nayabs to see the relevance to Kendra activities. 
  • Fill out a handover document for the next coordinator so they knows what content the gooch has previously covered to aid them with planning. 

Gujarati Head Teacher

Name: Ameetbhai Shah
Age: 
Role: Head Teacher of Gujarati at Harrow Kendra
Aim: Responsible for the internal organisation and management of the Gujarati classes at the school and the direction of how we deliver Gujarati as an organisation.
  • Manage Gujarati Teachers and Helpers in terms of their plans and delivery, but also their welfare. 
  • Support the GCSE class in terms of their studies and signing up for exams. 
  • Create and implement new Gujarati initiatives.
  • Discuss with the Kendra Nayak baalako who are disinterested in Gujarati and what the action should be. 
Kendra Nayab

Name: Zaraben Doshi
Age: 25
Role: Deputy Leaders of Kendra
Aim: Ensure the development and engagement of our workforce and baalako and drive the Kendra vision through the activities that we give our baalako. 
  • Knowing the 14-18 year olds on a personal basis, be their first port of call and work on their development.
  • Ensure the activities at Kendra are challenging, engaging and exciting.
  • Manage the Harrow Kendra Senior Advisers to support our workforce through the new Baalako Development Programme. 
  • Keeping track of portfolio development and improve communication throughout the whole of the 14+ group. 
  • Monitor portfolio attendance, latecomers and early leavers. 
  • Identify those baalako who are not engaged or bonding with people and create an individual plan so that we don’t lose those baalako. 
  • Run the Reflection Meetings at the end of the day with the workforce.

New Intake Integration Coordinator

Name: Kishanbhai Doshi
Age: 23
Role: Leader of the New Intake Integration Programme (Baalako aged 6+)
Aim: Introduce the baalako to what shishukunj is and integrate them into Core Kendra. 
  • Create and execute a New Intake Induction and Integration plans.
  • Utilise the workforce group to deliver the relative induction sessions.
  • Keep all leadership updated with where the baalako are at so we can ensure they are settled at Shishukunj.
  • All baalako should have integrated by the first half of Autumn term. 



Dasta Nayak and Nayab Coordinator

Name: Akrutiben Shah
Age: 23
Role: Guide Dasta Nayaks and Nayabs
Aim: Ensure the Dasta Nayaks and Nayabs make the most of their role, get the skills to do their role well and they all bond with the baalako. 
  • Prepare Dasta Nayaks and Nayabs for their role before the new Kendra year begins.
  • Determine what briefs the Dasta Nayaks and Nayabs should have each week so they can be best prepared for the sessions they may be expected to lead and their role.
  • Run regular reflection sessions with the Dasta Nayaks and Nayabs focused on the dasta sessions they have led and determination of how well they know their baalako.
  • Give the Dasta Nayaks and Nayabs sufficient time and guidance to deliver talks for parents day.
  • Discuss with the Kendra Nayak on the appropriate course of action for Dasta Nayaks and Nayabs whose attendance is low or who do not come to the reflection sessions.


Special Needs Coordinator

Name: Trishlaben Dhanani
Age: 26
Role: Special Needs Coordinator
Aim: Ensure baalako with special needs or who are disengaging at Kendra are supported and encouraged to participate in the most appropriate way. 
  • Understand the baalako who match this criteria.
  • Advise and provide training to the Baalako Welfare Portfolio on the best way to support these baalako. 
  • Catch up with the parents of these baalako in terms of initiatives currently being used at School or outside of Shishukunj and see if we can bring them to Kendra. 









System and Change Coordinator

Name: Kajalben Murugadas
Age: 27
Role: System and Change Coordinator
Aim: Oversee some of the innovative processes that the Kendra Leadership would like to implement and support and advise on any change overs in terms of roles and structures at Kendra. 
  • Ensuring the new first aid, dbs and safeguarding processes are implemented well and work for Kendra.
  • ShiPA Lead Source and Support in terms of driving volunteers into this function. 
  • Run the “Day in the Life of Shishukunj Baalak” which is a day focused on getting the parents to experience the baalako activities, understanding what we do and what their baalako gain from Shishukunj.
